EPISODE 4 - RUPAUL'S DRAG RACE SEASON 10

Last weeks episode saw the departure of Yuhua Hamasaki, and some hilarious new apps! But this week the queens have to design three looks for the runway. Gentleman start your engines, and may the best woman win!

As the queens enter the WerkRoom from the main stage, the Vixen makes a snide comment about Asia borrowing gloves from Blair. Following their drama in Untucked, Aquaria is still visibly upset. The Vixen is proving to be biting and vicious, making her really hard to get along with. In their kiki following the challenge, Monique is upset that Mayhem called her out for being a bad leader and throwing her under the bus in front of the judges. However the drama dissipates and the queens decide to finally de-drag.

This weeks mini challenge is to hilariously photobomb a celebrity photo. Each queen was given a photo to be photoshopped in to in order to make Ru laugh.

After some truly comedic photobombs, Aquaria is declared the winner.

The maxi challenge for this week is to present three themed looks on the runway: Alaskan Winter Realness (A summertime look??), Miami Summer (A winter look??) and Martian Eleganza Extravaganza. The queens begin designing straight away, taking provided materials for their martian looks.

The WerkRoom is tense with each queen focusing on creating and sewing their Martian Eleganza Extravaganza look. Here's a rundown of the WerkRoom activity
- Aquaria isn’t really going to wear much
- Asia has been really motherly, helping out other queens
- Dusty is just kinda gluing things to a corset which doesn’t always go well with the judges
- Miz Cracker is concerned because she’s good at sewing and she has to keep up her image
- The Vixen has been relatively tame this week ... so far

Now for my runway opinions:

I really like Cracker’s Miami look, the entire outfit made of hair was clever and well executed.
Dusty’s Miami look and Vixen’s Miami look took the idea of ice queens and delivered them well.
Aquaria’s Alaskan Winter outfit was inspired by Mexican wrestler and showed off her body well.
Kameron’s Martian look was gorgeous and told a story - the dumb space bimbo
Aquaria isn’t wearing many clothes in her Martian outfit, yet the judges loved it.
Dusty’s Martian look was not well designed and instead looked like a bedazzled fairy, judges also didn't appreciate it.
Monique and Blair's Martian outfits were pretty and well received.

On the other hand, I did not like any of Asia’s looks today
Miz Cracker's martian eleganza extravaganza look was undeniably my favourite of the night.

Declared safe was Blair, Vixen, Mayhem, Monique, Eureka.

The judges then began giving their critiques.

Monet - Her Miami look was praised, but others looked homemade. Unfortunately her Martian outfit was falling apart while on the runway.
Kameron - Each look was different and the third look gave a story. Not the week's winner probably but still one of the top.
Aquaria - Her looks were cohesive and she served ‘showstopper’. Judges loved her!
Dusty - First look was too simple, second look was good, third look didn’t have a convincing storyline. Just a little off the mark.
Asia - Did not perform as well as expected. Asia helped everyone - but should have taken care of herself.
Cracker - Every judge loved her outfits as they had good narratives with them. Miz Cracker was Michelle’s favourite of the night.

The critiques suggest that the judges are essentially deciding between Cracker and Aquaria as the winner. Eventually they decide Aquaria is the winner. Ru also announces Cracker is safe, so is Kameron and so is Asia. Therefore, Monet and Dusty are up for elimination.

Lip-syncing to Pound the Alarm Monet is serving comedy and Dusty sort of doesn’t know the words. Definitely the funniest moment of the lip-sync was when Monet goes to jump split (like many other queens do in the lip-syncs)  but doesn’t. She does finally jump split later. Dusty's performance just didn't match up as Monet had the judges in stitches and she is likely to be going home.

By the end of the lip-sync Monet is safe and Dusty is going home. Dusty was a favourite of mine although she didn't get much screen time. Nevertheless, its sad to see her go.

My top TOOT of the week was definitely Miz Cracker's Martian Eleganza. Well executed and comedic, it was an overall favourite for everyone, including me.

My top BOOT of the week was Dusty's Martian Eleganza Extravaganza look, which didn't make much sense to me. It was poorly put together and tacky, which was not my favourite. The short, boy-like hair didn't work well either.

This week's RuView had some extra terms that you might be unfamiliar with so here's some definitions that might help you out!

Kiki - A party or a chat, just a fun time.

Untucked - The program aired after the episode finishes that shows the queens backstage and a small interview with the eliminated queen of the week. Usually pretty dramatic (especially with The Vixen) or very funny. Shows more of the queens personality.

Serving comedy - Being funny
